then perhaps you are using 32bit OS and platform-tools has updated up 23.1.
The solution is to go back to the platform-tools 23.0.1.

After the download, platform-tools folder to delete old in sdk and copy down into the medium.

Can you give a step by step explanation for the above procedure. I am a linux user and new to it.

1. download platform-tools 23.0.1 cho Linux here: https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/platform-tools_r23.0.1-linux.zip
2. Unzip file download
2. Find your location of sdk
3. Go to skd folder and delte old platform-tools then paste your folder just download.

Thank you. It doesnt show that error now but shows a new error saying ‘ Error running app: enable to obtain debug bridge ‘.

Great… Downgrade to platform-tools 23.0.1 works for me as well. I have 32 bit ubuntu and as per your explanation it seems wrong platform-tool is used.

I have a mac core i5 which means I have a 64 bit OS.
My system was worked fine but recently it give me this error.
